Jerry was always the heart, ears and voice of our industry. It is nice to reflect that we can now call it an industry and that Jerry made it a caring and sharing industry at that. I have had the greatest pleasure knowing Jerry and his dedicated and innovative family. He has given a legacy to the world and has made our soils healthier, our knowledge deeper, and our hearts stronger. I, and a multitude of others, owe to him and the many contributers to Compost Science, Biocycle and Compost Science and Utilization a great debt for the education, creative thinking and problem solving in mangaing organic residuals. They have completed a vision in one short lifetime, so now organics are truly used as the precious resources he always knew them to be.
Love and strength to all of you who shared in his life.
Most sincerely, Jeff Gage
