Remote Equipment Monitoring

Rotochopper’s 2017 Demo Day featured the introduction of the RotoLink 2nd generation remote monitoring system with live connection to the grinder controller and Rotochopper Customer Service. With RotoLink, multiple users can work together through live connection on smart phones or computers to monitor and adjust critical machine settings from anywhere in the world. Monitoring capabilities include maintenance life, vibration and bearing temperatures, engine data and production data. When granted access, factory service techs have a direct connection to the display and with permission can change machine settings.

Screen For Low Volume Users

Komptech’s new Multistar S3 is designed expressly for the needs of lower to moderate volume users. It combines low cost with a level of performance previously only available in the high capacity L and XL class. Built on a hook lift module, the S3 has small dimensions while still offering the requisite mobility for service providers or multi-site use. The S3 has a hopper volume and a one-piece fines discharge conveyor to prevent leakage. Applications range from compost to green cuttings to bark, chips and shredded waste wood. The S3, with a hopper volume up to 5 cubic yards, is compatible with Komptech’s wind-sifting of the medium fraction, screen deck variations, switch from 3 to 2 fractions, and hopper extensions.

Dry Digesters In Italy

Italy’s fifth Kompogas plant is to be built in Foligno, a town in the province of Perugia, with completion scheduled for the end of 2018. Along with the composting technology by Cesaro Mac Import (CMI), the dry anaerobic digestion (AD) technology provided by Hitachi Zosen Inova (HZI) will form the core of an overall concept aimed at processing about 40,000 metric tons/year of food waste and 13,500 metric tons/year of green waste. HZI will deliver two PF1300 steel digesters with the corresponding technology, including the control system. The digestion process will produce more than 14,000 cubic meters of biogas every day, which will subsequently be upgraded into biomethane and fed into the local gas grid or sold as an environmentally friendly fuel in the form of compressed natural gas (CNG).

Stationary Electric Chipper

Peterson Pacific Corp. introduced the stationary electric Peterson 5050H Delimber Debarker Disc Chipper that produces high quality, low bark content chips for wood pulp and pellets. It processes whole trees in one continuous operation. The 5050H’s large feed throat can accept up to a 23-inch diameter single tree or multiple smaller stems. It can be configured with a three or four pocket disc, with several optional sheave sizes to make the precise chip needed. Chipping production rates up to 150 tons/hour can be achieved with the Peterson 5050H unit, depending on chip size and wood characteristics.
