The Compost Council of Canada is celebrating 35 years of achievements and future-forward opportunities at its Conference on Organics Recycling, November 4-6, 2025 in Ottawa, Ontario. Industry leaders, innovators and advocates will delve into organics recycling infrastructure and technology; policy directions and research breakthroughs; soil health; compost, digestate and biochar markets; and compostable products. Featured events include an Operator Panel Session comprised of individuals with multi-decade experiences in organics recycling and market development. The panel will provide “tried and true” operating insights and the latest strategies to capture the full potential for organics recycling success and viability. Additional sessions will include updates from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, the Canadian Produce Marketing Association, and Statistics Canada. On November 4, tours will be held at Convertus Ottawa’s in-vessel composting facility that processes residential organics, and an anaerobic digestion site. The composting facility features a multi-stage odor abatement system comprised of ammonia scrubbers, humidifiers and biofilters.
