Virtual Zero Waste Conference

The National Zero Waste Conference, an annual two-day virtual educational and networking event organized by Zero Waste USA in partnership with the National Recycling Coalition, is being held December 8 and 9. The theme for sessions on Dec. 8 is Zero Waste Business, and on Dec. 9, it is Zero Waste Communities. Keynote Speakers include Yvette Arellano, Founder and Director, Fenceline Watch and Board Member, Green Latinos; Nina Bellucci Butler, CEO, Stina Inc.; Paul Connett, author of The Zero Waste Solution ; and Mary Curtiss, Global Head of Sustainability, Renewable Energy and EHS Programs, HP, Inc.

A panel discussion on Dec. 9, Compostable Organics Out of Landfill Now (COOLNow), builds on an initiative launched in 2007 by BioCycle, the GrassRoots Recycling Network and Eco-Cycle called COOL 2012. The COOLNow campaign encourages all 50 states to develop robust composting infrastructure and move away from landfilling compostable organics. At the session on Dec. 9, members of the COOLNow advisory board will discuss pertinent issues, campaign status and what you can do in your community, at the state level and nationally.
