Food waste depackaging is scaling fast, but regulation isn’t keeping up. BioCycle’s Nora Goldstein and Paula Luu are hosting an hour-long webinar — Is Regulation Keeping Up with Depackaging? — on August 25 at 12 p.m. ET to share new nationwide research on how states are overseeing depackaging facilities, contamination limits and the microplastics measurement gap.
Joining the BioCycle team will be regulators working directly on these issues, including Lauren Hill of the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality, Ben Gauthier of the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources, and Dawn Marie Maurer of the Washington State Department of Ecology.
The panel will explore:

- Optimizing depackaging equipment to minimize microplastics creation
